Young author helps sick kids
Aidan Ward is just 12 years old. Eighteen months ago Aidan was diagnosed with Leukemia and has had to undergo treatment, which included chemotherapy. A year ago, Aidan joined the Ronald McDonald Learning Program to ensure his schoolwork didn’t fall behind. Aidan used his time in the program to write a book. With the guidance of his Learning Program tutor and mentor Lauren, Aidan wrote a book titled The A-Z of Chemotherapy. Aidan hopes the book will help other children undergoing chemotherapy.

“I wanted to help other kids get through what I went through and also to tell them a few things they might expect from their treatment,” he said.
The book is currently being revised by a publisher and is hoped to be published next year.

The Ronald McDonald Learning Program is an educational catch up program designed to help children catch up with their schooling after a serious illness.
