"Words cannot express the way I feel about Ronald
McDonald House. Its loving, caring managers and volunteers
make it that much easier … Every time we walk through
the front door, it feels like coming home." Jean
Hyland (Brisbane) whose son, Steven, was diagnosed with
a life threatening disorder
The cornerstone of RMHC's work, Ronald McDonald Houses
are attached to major women or children’s hospitals
and provide a 'home-away-from-home' for seriously ill
children and their families.
They provide a ‘home-away-from-home’ for families
of children with serious illness, along with the support
of experienced House Managers, volunteers and other families
in a similar situation.
Each house is administered by an independent board (made
up of McDonald’s, hospital and community representatives)
that appoints staff and organises the big-hearted volunteers
who manage the day-to-day operations. Capital funding
is provided by RMHC, but each house is responsible for
its own daily running costs – Ronald McDonald House Charities rely heavily on support from their communities,
so please give generously. |
